Abstract
Electroforming and conduction have been studied in thin amorphous films of ZnS and CdS sandwiched between Al, Ag and Au electrodes. The forming process differs from that observed in most amorphous oxides in a number of ways. Forming appears to be a two-stage process and the subsequent conduction properties are dependent upon the background pressure during device fabrication. The voltage at which the peak circulating current occurs is found to be time dependent in both ZnS and CdS.Keywords
