Abstract
A convenient four-step asymmetric Strecker synthesis, utilizing (S)-(-)-1-phenylethylamine as the chiral auxiliary reagent, is described for the preparation of (R)-(+)-2-methyl-3-phenylalanine in >98% enantiomeric excess.Keywords
