Abstract
Plutonium nitride has been prepared by the reaction of nitrogen with plutonium hydride at 400–500°C. The heat of combustion of plutonium nitride in oxygen has been measured and from this the heat of formation, –70.2±1.5 kcal/mole, has been calculated. Keywords
