The calculation of genetic risks in X-linked recessive conditions using programmable calculators

Abstract
A scheme is proposed for the analysis of X-linked recessive pedigrees using programmable calculators. The analysis of such pedigrees is reduced to 2 easily programmable operations that can be used by the counselor in a step-wise fashion, entering the pedigree information sequentially. Programmable calculators could be a useful tool in general and in specialized genetic counseling clinics.
