Abstract
Restricted energy absorption coefficients were defined and calculated for high-energy photons. Restricted absorption coefficients differ from ordinary energy transfer coefficients in that they include only that fraction of the photon energy which is absorbed locally within some region of interest from the photon fluence through the same region. Restricted energy absorption coefficients were calculated for water at restriction energies of 1, 10 and 200 keV. Restricted absorption coefficients were applied to cavity theory and a general expression was derived for the absorbed dose in a small detector due to photon interactions inside the detector. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
