Failure of the Excretory Ducts of a Tapeworm (Hymenolepis diminuta) to Transport Absorbed Substances from One Portion of the Worm to Another

Abstract
One end of worms freshly re-moved from rats was immersed in various radioactive solutions containing P32, S35 and Ca45 and the other end in a vial of isotonic solution; the intervening portion was imbedded in agar. After 45 minutes to several hours, tests of various parts of the worms for radioactivity gave no evidence of transportation of the absorbed materials via the excretory ducts.
