Abstract
We describe a novel technique for generating ultrahigh-speed bit-by-bit optical phase correlated data signals based on cross-phase modulation induced nonlinear polarization rotation between a pump and a continuous-wave light. As an illustration of this method, we demonstrate, for the first time, the generation of a 160-Gb/s carrier-suppressed return-to-zero data signal. Keywords
