Abstract
The fact that further progress in holographic techniques depends to a great extent on improvements in recording materials has now gained recognition. Silver halide photographic emulsions are still the most widely used recording medium, and work continues to improve their characteristics as well as to optimize processing techniques. However, other materials are being used to an increasing extent for specific applications for which they are better adapted. Recent developments in this field as well as some of the advantages and drawbacks of currently available recording materials for holography are reviewed. Keywords
