Abstract
The increase in the mast cells observed in the uterine horn with an intra-uterine device, both at estrus and on day 4 of pregnancy, support the suggestion that the device may be exerting its anti-implantation effect by preventing the release from the mast cells of adequate amounts of histamine essential for implantation. However, increased mast cell count also may be part of an inflammatory response, or of an increased estrogenic effect caused by the device. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
