The Cultivation of Trypanosoma congolense In vitro

Abstract
Successful cultivation of the Lumu strain of T. congolense in a diphasic blood agar medium previously published for the cultivation of T. gambiense and T. rhodesiense is reported. Tests of the infectivity of these cultures indicate that the adult trypanosomes of T. congolense rapidly change form and become nonin-fective when isolated in vitro.
