The role of hybridization in U(Ru,Rh)Al

Abstract
Magnetic susceptibility, magnetization, and specific heat on the pseudoternary series U(Ru,Rh)Al are presented. The development of magnetism, occurring in compounds with Rh concentrations larger than 20%, can be attributed mainly to a varying strength of the hybridization of the U 5f orbitals with the transition-metal d orbitals.
