Abstract
An elongate ENE-trending seamount in the New Caledonia Basin is interpreted as the preduct of basaltic fissure eruption. The age is unknown, but Pleistocene— Recent shallow water echinoids have been dredged from the summit, which is 550 fathoms below sea level.Keywords
