Vitamin B12 Serum Levels and Diabetic Retinopathy.

Abstract
The vitamin B12 serum levels were determined by a microbial procedure which permits the estimation of as little as 10 [mu][mu]g. The serum levels of vitamin B12 in diabetics with or without retinopathy are widely different. Those with retinal lesions have a significantly higher activity (292 [plus or minus] 24 [mu][mu]g/ml) than those without retinopathy (162 [plus or minus] 18 [mu][mu]g/ml). The non-diabetics have Bl2 levels insignificantly different from diabetics without retinopathy.
