Abstract
The effects of an electric field on a critical binary liquid mixture cyclohexane–aniline have been studied via the adsorption at the liquid–vapor interface. The liquid partially filled the space between two electrodes, and shifts in the critical temperature depended upon the orientation of the electric field. A model for the liquid–vapor interface presented recently is generalized to include the effects of an electric field, and comparison with the experimental results suggests that the liquid dielectric constant shows critical behavior.
