Abstract
The substituent exchange between trithiadiborolanes has been studied by the 10B isotope technique. A simultaneous exchange of the substituent and the boron atom to which the substituent is bound was observed. This result is explained by a mechanism comprising a conformationally flexible ten membered ring as an intermediate. The exchange occurs not only between differently substituted trithiadiborolanes but also between trithiadiborolanes of one sort.
