Abstract
SUMMARY The results of a preliminary survey of the Saprolegniaceae in the soil and waters of Mackinac Island, Michigan, are reported. The fungi recovered are distributed in four genera, and consist of nine previously described species and one variety, and six non-fruiting isolates. A new species of Achlya, recovered from the soil of three areas on the island, is described as Achlya michiganensis. Keywords
