Abstract
A method for the extraction of native soluble collagen from aged tendon was described. Pre-treatment of the tissue with [alpha]-amylase destroyed the covalent linkages which stabilized the connective tissue collagen, with the subsequent extraction of collagen in dilute acetic acid. This collagen is a highly polymerized form of tropocollagen with teleopeptides intact. Keywords
