The influence of a transport current on the intermediate state of superconductive lead

Abstract
The influence of a radial transport current on the flux distribution in superconductive lead discs situated in a magnetic field parallel to their axes was investigated by a Bitter pattern technique at 4·2°k. The results showed that at low magnetic fields and low transport current densities the intermediate state patterns were aligned into concentric circles around the specimen axis. Increasing the magnetic field or transport current density was found to cause movement of these concentric patterns.
