Abstract
A severe skin eruption developed in a worker shortly after exposure to 9,9-dibromofluorene. Red blotches appeared on the back of the left hand and the inner left wrist. After a few hrs. red streaks appeared on the face and ear. The rash progressively spread, and after 3 wks. it covered both forearms and face completely. One eye was swollen and shut. Treatment with benadryl immediately relieved the severe itching, and within a few days the face peeled, and the blotches on the extremities began to dry. Six wks. from the time of exposure small red blotches remained only at the sites of initial contact. A 2d subject upon initial exposure also suffered some inflammation and itching of the hands, but the condition spontaneously healed within 1 wk.Keywords
