Abstract
Morphological heterothallism was demonstrated in isolates of Pythium. Tracings of gametangial hyphae from compatible matings revealed the existence of antheridlal (male) and oogonial (female) isolates. No exceptions to clearly defined sexual dimorphism were observed. Evidence suggestive of a possible hormonal system controlling the initiation of gametangial initials was found. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
