Abstract
GIGO, a spreadsheet-based model of municipal solid waste (MSW) management systems is described. The model is intended for general system-level simulation consisting of linked detailed facility, process and cost models that can also be used independently to simulate components of a solid-waste-management system. The model requires no special programming skills beyond knowledge of the use of a common spreadsheet. The model is flexible, easy to use and modify, and is in the public domain. Model formulation and implementation are described. Keywords
