Abstract
The energy requirement of the adult rat does not increase (or decrease) if the protein of the diet is replaced by its natural forms of the amino acids or by the protein-acid-hydrolyzate plus tryptophan. A method to separate hair from rat feces is described, and the significance of hair nitrogen in computing nitrogen balances is discussed. Keywords
