Abstract
ITP is a common disease that is sorely in need of better management. Treatment strategy requires consideration of both long-term benefits and long-term hazards of each available therapeutic option. This discussion reviews conventional therapy as well as newer approaches to refractory ITP, including immunosuppressants, vinca alkaloids, colchicine, androgens, tamoxifen, and plasmapheresis. Keywords
