Abstract
Concanavalin [con] A-nonreactive polysaccharide and 2 con A-reactive polysaccharides of differing con A affinites that were purified from culture filtrates of Mycobacterium tuberculosis were subjected to carbohydrate analysis by gas and gas-liquid chromatography. Con A-nonreactive polysaccharide was D-arabinogalactan and the con A-reactive polysaccharide of highest affinity was D-arabinomannan. The lower affinity con A-reactive polysaccharide was rich in arabinose and probably represented a mixture, with more than 1 polysaccharide present. Glucan was a significant contaminant of all 3 polysaccharides. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
