Abstract
The ultimate mechanical properties (σB and εB) and elastic recovery (inversely measured by tension set) of dynamically vulcanized melt mixed rubber-plastic blends increase with the similarity of the rubber and plastic in respect to the critical surface tension for melting γc. They also increase with the crystallinity Wc of the plastic (resin) phase. Stiffness, as measured by Young's modulus E, increases with the differences in surface energy between the two phases. Keywords
