Protective Effect of Cysteamine at Fractionated Irradiation: Ii. Shortening of Life Span

Abstract
Groups of mice were exposed to repeated doses of 80 R and 160 R at various time intervals with a view to study the protective effect of cysteamine against late effects from sub-lethal doses of irradiation. The accumulated doses fell definitely between sublethal and supra-lethal doses. In addition to the well-known protective effect against acute injuries, cysteamine also protects against such chronic effects as shortening of the life span.
