Abstract
To the Editor: Infection with cryptosporidium, a coccidian parasite, has been reported in a variety of species, including human beings, 1 2 3 and an association between infection with cryptosporidia and enterocolitis in several domesticated animals has been suspected.4 , 5 Recent reports have indicated that the organism can be incriminated as a potential pathogen in outbreaks of diarrhea in calves6 (Tzipori S, Campbell I, Sherwood D, et al. Unpublished data), and there is now experimental evidence that it readily infects, with or without causing diarrhea, several kinds of laboratory and domesticated animals (Tzipori S, Angus KW, Campbell I, et al. Unpublished data). We know . . .Keywords
