Abstract
The rate of heart was recorded by means of a cardiotachometer. Records were made of 12 complete nights'' sleep. The heart rate rose sharply in the half min. interval preceding change in position of the trunk of a sleeper, to be succeeded by a sharper drop following the movement to a below-normal rate. This may be correlated with interference of circulation and overheating of unventilated portions of the skin.
