Abstract
Presentation of CaseA 33-year-old woman with hepatic and respiratory failure was admitted to the hospital for consideration of liver and lung transplantation.The patient was well until seven years earlier, when right-upper-quadrant pain with enlargement of the liver developed. Results of liver-function tests were abnormal. Examination of a biopsy specimen of the liver showed granulomatous hepatitis consistent with sarcoidosis; there was no evidence of cirrhosis. The patient received prednisone for one month. She felt well and worked as a professional dancer until five months before entry, when she became fatigued and dyspneic while dancing.
