Abstract
This study summarizes results of administering solid DDT orally to chickens, goats and a horse. Comparative toxicity studies with dichlorodiphenyldichloro-ethane (DDD) and dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (DDT) on young Barred Rock chickens showed the former to be much less toxic than DDT. A goat weighing 50 kg. in lactation was fed daily 0.25 to 0.28 g./kg. of solid DDT for 21/2 months. No symptoms of intoxication appeared in this animal or her kid which was allowed to suckle during this period. Milk, cream and butter from this animal when fed to white rats produced no symptoms. Keywords
