Abstract
In a group of developing organisms a law of growth will sometimes be suggested by plotting such quantities as the standard error of log(size), the standard error of the increment in log(size), and the standard error of log(size) after adjustment by covariance upon the initial values of log(size) against the mean increment in log(size). This is illustrated by some results with apple trees, which suggest an initial growth rate giving way to a subsequent one, the first but not the second being correlated with initial size. Keywords
