The spatial distribution of X-ray clusters of galaxies

Abstract
A reasonably complete all-sky sample of the 53 X-ray brightest clusters of galaxies is presented. A high frequency of pairs is noted and also an exceptional concentration in the direction of the ‘Great Attractor’, but at a much larger distance. The dipole moment of the X-ray clusters does not coincide with that of the microwave background dipole. The two-point correlation function of the X-ray clusters is unity on a scale of ∼ 2000 km s−1.
