Abstract
Electron beam irradiation is used to make electronic walls intersecting the chains of the single crystal polymer PDADCH. Photocarriers are shown to travel along the polymer chains until stopped at the walls. The carrier motion is consistent with that of the acoustic solitary wave polaron. Photocarriers of opposite sign accumulating at the walls are shown to recombine. Intrinsic recombination centres are shown to be spaced 70 mu m apart on each chain. Keywords
