Abstract
WITH the partial working out of many of the pathways of intermediary metabolism, the mechanisms of enzyme action, of protein synthesis and of the genetic code, the springtime thoughts of biologists, molecular, chemical and cellular, have turned to what should be their first love: the organization of molecules into the functioning structures Abbreviations Used ER: endoplasmic reticulum NAD: nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide NADH: reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide NADPH: neduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate of the cell. I do not allude to the isolation and morphologic and biochemical characterization of the organelles of the cell, such as nuclei, mitochondria and chloroplasts, but . . .Keywords
