RADIATION PROTECTION OF VITAL ORGANS, USING A SELECTIVE ARTERIAL CATHETER

Abstract
Experimental attempts to extend the technique of organ radiation protection with a percutaneous arterial catheter to the small bowel, are detailed. Although results to date are inconclusive, further studies are warranted. Preliminary results from a pilot clinical study of unilateral radiation protection of the kidney are also presented in the form of a case report.
