Abstract
A NEW term, community pediatrics, is abroad in the land. In the first decade after World War II the then new term was comprehensive pediatrics, which was applied to a variety of new pediatric educational and care programs. The current shift to the term "community" represents more than a change of fashion. Comprehensive pediatrics is concerned with provision of health services to meet all the medical needs of a given child who comes for medical attention.
