Abstract
The frequency of patella alta as defined by the method of Insall & Salvati in knees with femoro-patellar osteoarthrosis was determined. Patella alta was six times as frequent in knees with osteoarthrosis than in those with a normal femoro-patellar joint. Patella alta is more common in women and is often bilateral. Keywords
