Abstract
A new method of staining M. tuberculosis in tissue sections is described which is based on the impregnation with silver of strongly oxidized material. This method brings out tubercle bacilli in great numbers in tissues in which carbolfuchsin shows few or none. The argyrophilic properties of M. tuberculosis support the hypothesis that its relationship to fungi may be closer than is generally believed.
