Abstract
The major driving forces for change in the chemical finishing of textiles in the 1990s are discussed and a review of some recent developments in chemical finishing is presented. Developments in easy care and durable press finishes, water repellent, soil release and stain release finishes and softeners for cellulosic and man-made fibre fabrics are reviewed. Shrinkresist finishes for wool are also briefly discussed. Keywords
