Abstract
During the last two years we have examined the urinary excretion of homovanillic (HVA) and vanillylmandelic acid (VMA), in normal children, in order to obtain the normal range of these acids and thereby to diagnose functional neural tumors as early as possible. Our material consisted of 6 normal babies aged 7–14 days, 30 normal children aged 5 weeks up to 12 years and 40 hospitalized children, suspected to have a functional neural tumor, aged 4 weeks up to 3 years.
