Abstract
This article discusses the development in primary health care of a holistic orientation in which all aspects of child development—including learning and behavior—are considered part of the health care provider's domain. The health care community is challenged to develop more effective approaches to the identification of children at-risk, assessment, and intervention and evaluation of outcomes. Keywords
