Abstract
The `vapour quench' technique has been used to prepare amorphous alloy films containing 80 to 100 at.% of gadolinium. The Curie temperature of these alloys has been inferred from esr measurements and falls appreciably as the gadolinium content is reduced. Evidence of the amorphous nature of the film has been obtained from x-ray diffraction studies. Keywords
