Abstract
An antiserum against Escherichia coli Dam methyltransferase has been developed in rabbits and employed to detect and quantitate the enzyme in immunoblots. A wild-type, rapidly growing E. coli cell (doubling time = 30 min) was found to contain about 130 molecules of Dam methyltransferase. Keywords
