A novel, highly convergent, regioselective glycosylation methodology based on differences in reactivity between hydroxy groups of a glycosyl donor and an acceptor has been employed for the synthesis of a pentasaccharide that is involved in the hyperacute rejection response in xenotransplantation from pig to man.Keywords
