Abstract
Although it is generally believed that endemic typhus fever is a common disease in the W. Indies, there are few reports to substantiate this view. The authors report the occurrence of endemic typhus in Jamaica in 1941 and 1942. In a period of 5 months, 68 probable cases were diagnosed in natives. The etiological agent was not isolated from cases nor from rats trapped in homes in which certain of these cases occurred. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
