Abstract
A lectotype is designated for Lonchaea zetterstedti Becker, a holarctic species whose larvae sometimes attack bark beetles and cerambycids in conifers. The taxonomy and nomenclature of this species is clarified, its distribution and biology is discussed, and a key is provided for identification of it and its relatives. Keywords
