Abstract
Arachidonic acid, but not several structurally similar fatty acids, stimulated neutrophils in suspension to aggregate; this effect was blocked by 5,8,11,14-eicosatetraynoic acid, an inhibitor of arachidonic acid metabolism. Analagous to platelets, arachidonate may be a precursor of active metabolites which mediate neutrophil responses. Keywords
