Correlation effects in theM4,5N4,5O Auger spectra of Xe

Abstract
The M4,5N4,5O Auger spectra of Xe have been measured and compared with theoretical profiles. Single-particle predictions are found to deviate strongly from experiment in the case of the M4,5N4,5O1 transitions. Multiconfiguration calculations which take into account the mixing between the 4d95s15p6 and 4d95s25p45d1 configurations reproduce the observed structure reasonably well.
