Abstract
A classical description of state selective excitation processes in atom-charged particle collisions is provided for arbitrary values of the collision energy. Closed-form expressions for the cross sections of nl to n', nl to l' and nl to n'l' transitions are obtained in the high energy limit. The scaling properties of sigma (nl to n'l') cross sections are briefly discussed. Keywords
