Specific language impairment and parameter theory

Abstract
A parameter theory of language learning was applied to data from eight specifically-language-impaired children in an attempt to determine whether a single factor might be responsible for a large cluster of these children's errors. The results failed to support the hypothesis that these children's difficulties were associated with a delayed resetting of the null subject parameter. These findings are compared to findings from studies involving other language learning theories.
